About Us

Story Still Matters

Aegis Publishing was founded on a simple belief:

Story still matters.

In an age where much of modern entertainment has become hollow, cynical, preachy, or creatively bankrupt, we believe audiences are starving for something deeper. Worlds worth exploring, heroes worth admiring, villains worth fearing, and stories that stay with you long after the last page.

What We’re Building

Aegis Publishing is the creative home of the Aegis-verse; a science fiction and fantasy universe with room for every genre inside it: Drama, Horror, Mythology, Crime, Mystery, Action, Romance, and of course… Epic Adventure.

Every book stands on its own. Start anywhere. You will never feel lost. But characters, mysteries, civilizations, and buried history cross between series, and readers who follow recommended path will find the threads that lead to a far larger saga running underneath. One that stretches from ancient Earth to the edge of the galaxy, and eventually beyond it.

Aegis Publishing was built as the creative home of its first flagship author, Jack McEvans. Creator of the horror quadrilogy The Rake and the mythic multi saga Aegis of Imperia, and the growing roster of worlds connected to them.

Over time, we intend to bring in some of the best new and up-and-coming storytellers we can find. Writers who still believe story comes first. Writers who understand that audiences deserve compelling characters, meaningful themes, emotional journeys, unforgettable worlds, and genuine passion poured into the craft.

This is a publishing company started by writers, for writers.

Why We Exist

Hollywood forgot that story comes first. Traditional publishing forgot it too. Now the entire industry suffers from the same slow collapse in quality, pushing the same lectures nobody asked for, and the same quiet contempt for the people paying for it all.

Many of us grew up loving stories. Movies, books, games, mythology, fantasy, science fiction. We did not abandon them.

We feel they abandoned us.

So we built our own thing.

What We Stand For

We are unapologetically a Conservative Christian company. Our values shape the spirit of the stories we tell: courage, sacrifice, redemption, perseverance, family, faith, truth, responsibility, and the eternal struggle between good and evil.

At the same time, our doors are open to anyone willing to take the journey with us. Whether you are conservative, liberal, independent, religious, skeptical, or simply someone searching for great stories again, you are all welcome here. If some of our stories become guilty pleasures you have to hide from your peers, we will happily accept the compliment.

Because at Aegis Publishing, story is the center of everything.

The music exists to serve the story. The art exists to serve the story. The spectacle exists to serve the story. The technology exists to serve the story.

How We Work

Every story we publish is created by a human author. No exceptions.

Characters, plot, theme, dialogue, world building, scenes. Every draft of every book is written by the author. It is a non negotiable requirement of publishing with us.

We do use AI in editorial, and we’d rather tell you exactly how than let you wonder. It reviews manuscripts, scores them against demanding craft standards, and proposes line edits during final polish, which the author accepts, rewrites, or discards. AI proposes. The author decides. Nothing enters a manuscript unless the author puts it there.

We are keeping our roster small. No more than 20 authors, ever. Growth is the easiest thing in the world to chase and the fastest way to lose the thing that made you worth reading. We would rather stay small and stay good.

And we make our readers a promise: we will respect your time, your intelligence, and your investment in these stories. Memorable characters. Meaningful consequences. Payoffs that land. Adventures worth finishing.

Founded, Accidentally, on May the 4th

We didn’t plan it. We noticed it afterward, laughed, and then decided to take it seriously.

Because whatever you believe about coincidence, the date points at something real: a story that made a generation believe in wonder, in mythic scope, in good and evil that actually meant something. Before it was handed to people who didn’t understand what they’d been given.

We’re not claiming that mantle.

We’re saying somebody dropped it.

This Is Only the Beginning

The worlds are expanding.

The stories are just getting started.

And the next great adventure may be waiting just beyond the horizon.
